Accessories Magazine: Flip-Flops Go Mommy and Me with Havaianas for Baby Buggy

“New York–Havaianas has teamed up with the charity Baby Buggy and some celebrity moms for four Mommy and Me collections, all for a good cause and launching pre-Mother’s Day on April 15.
The chic moms (Courteney Cox, Nina Garcia, Rebecca Romijn and Tori Spelling), each designed a mommy and kid set of Havaianas for Baby Buggy, which will retail from $26 for adult styles and $19 for matching kids styles. Ten percent of all sales will be donated directly to the nonprofit, which provides needy families with gear, clothing and educational services for infants and children up to age 12.”

On Dec. 5 at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York, Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos will host an A Night of Comedy with Jerry Seinfeld & Friends, featuring that trio and more. Jessica Seinfeld, wife of comic Jerry Seinfeld, is turning “Extra” Lifechanger to help underprivileged children.

Katherine Snider, the executive director of Baby Buggy, a New York City-based charity for families in need says diapers top the list of their five most requested items. And even with large donations from companies like Huggies, they still can’t meet the demand.

“If you think about a single mom in New York City, working minimum wage, she has to work two hours to afford a pack of diapers,” says Snider. “That pack of diapers will get her through about two and a half days.”
